Burr Medic Weed
Burr Medic
Burr Medic
Burr Medic is another of the trifolate type lawn weeds, with serrated green leaves, it has long reddish creeping stems, and small groups of pea sized yellow flowers. It produces prickly burrs, which begin as small green circular like pods, which later dry out, becoming brown in colour. Burr Medic can quickly bunch up and spread in garden beds and lawns. It's deep tap root encourages it's survival in conditions which may otherwise be hostile to lawns.

It reproduces by seed alone, so removing the weed before it sets out it's seeds and prickles is the best way to reduce the infestation for the following years.
